Our Story
We’re a small team of Millennial Ministers.
We connect people across diverse beliefs and cultures, supporting their personal and interpersonal growth with ceremonial rituals. We believe ceremonies should involve family and friends of all faiths and backgrounds—creating an environment of graciousness and support.
Like many people around the world, 2020 and 2021 marked major upheaval in the lives of AWAKE founders. After losing a parent in the pandemic, mourning a beloved grandmother, saying goodbye to two pets, grappling with severe depression, and navigating new motherhood in isolation, we were both suddenly surrounded with the realities of life and death in the modern world.
Our diverse backgrounds in luxury events planning and venue management, along with librarianship and community development gave us a wealth of insight into society’s strengths and challenges. As women of strong principles and vision, we saw significant opportunity for today’s spiritual services to better align with contemporary values. We founded AWAKE to opens eyes to new possibilities for enlightenment in today’s world.

What on earth is Metaphysics?
In Metaphysics we believe that people construct their own meaning of the world based on their lived experiences and social conditioning. This gives us the power to change our reality, by changing our way of thinking.
We spent a long time searching, reviewing and speaking with officiants. Within the first minute of speaking with Lauren, we knew she would be the one to officiate our wedding.
