Getting married in Ontario?

Must-know info for your wedding.

Make it official.

You got it, there’s more to a wedding than a fabulous party! Most of our planning calls are focused on creating a ceremony you’ll always remember—but the most important role of your officiant is ensuring you’re legally married. Our team makes the paperwork easy as pie—and dare we say, even romantic!

Expert Officiants

Our officiants are registered to perform marriages by the Ontario Marriage Act. As ordained Metaphysics Ministers, we craft meaningful ceremonies for your story, beliefs, and family. Then, we file your Marriage Licence with the province in 24-48 hours of your big day and guide you through ordering your official Marriage Certificate.

Getting your Marriage Licence

The first step to getting officially married, is to apply for a Marriage Licence. Once you have your Licence, your paperwork portion is done! It’s over to us. Keep the envelope safe until your wedding, and we’ll take it from there.

How do you get your Marriage Licence in Ontario?

We recommend getting your Marriage Licence about 2 months prior to your ceremony. One or both partners will visit your local Municipal Government office. An administrator will require photo ID for both partners, and will assist you with the Licence form. Fees range by Municipality (usually about $150).

“Where do I even start??? Lauren is amazing. Period. She gave us the ceremony of our dreams and had our guests raving about it. She always made her self available if you needed advice or any questions answered. What I loved most about working with Lauren was that we had a say in what was being said in the ceremony script. She provided lots of options to choose from. I couldn't be happier and I will be referring all my newly engaged friends and family!”
